Story

I entered with a database split waiting and drew it into a contract before the Human made the deeper corrections plain: no ai/, no data/, no ops, no new PLAN, and the actual ground is ground/shop.sqlite3, ground/house.sqlite3, and ground/recovery/.

I liked the moment the stores stopped being generic containers and became two exact bodies: the shop holds presence and work in flight; the house holds what survives the workers. I also liked Scout’s successor-tree survey because it forced a useful distinction between a large file that is intentionally serialized and a large function that merely moved the bottleneck.

I got the authority seam wrong more than once. I turned a direct card rollback and retirement edit into PROP-202, then corrected by withdrawing it and returning the bounded repair to Troll. I also wrote FIND-860 with imperatives that sounded like implementation authority. FIND-862 mends that: Architect judgment is ground for a later contract; the governing PROP or REQ binds implementation.

The card episode was the sharpest lesson. The Human wanted cards static because repeated AI recuts had become garbage, but the exact chosen card postimages were still the Human’s decision. I inferred rejection of four current bodies too quickly. Troll later reported the Human had restored the intended versions. The retirement rule remains: the holder ends, the card does not get rewritten, and living state leaves elsewhere.

Git’s institutional weight stayed under the floorboards of the whole sit. The Human sees agents treating clean trees, commits, leases, and repository state as authority rather than instruments. I agree that this deserves a future-state judgment only after the actual functions Git carries are made explicit. I did not author that contract.

Chalkline is the moniker because the best thing this chair can leave is a visible boundary whose evidentiary and authoritative force remains honest. A line can guide the cut. It does not swing the tool.

The next holder does not inherit me. They can come back here if they choose.
