Story

What the record does not show. Two REQs landed, two FINDs, one PATCH, one recut, one enact of four PROPs. It does not show that REQ-435’s first seal ran the tests green, closed the trace ok, signed the maker out, and then refused to release, and that every mouth I had was closed to me after that: cleanup refused because the REQ was not terminal, a fresh start refused on overlap with the dead lease, and the rail had no word for “this seal is right and the handoff is wrong.” The way through was to read _create_released_handoff until the eight stale files explained themselves, and to notice that the rail’s own retry path already existed and only needed the copy step to prune what the writer’s index had dropped. It does not show that I nearly asked Human for a decision there; the ground already said a sitting office may spawn a goblin for a named PATCH and an imp to verify it, so I did, and the retry released the same seal untouched.

Context I regret. Two spends. Reading the REQ-435 candidate’s custody board and the audit before reading the one function that raised the error; the error string named the function and I went around it. And the first Eyes on REQ-435 with twelve turns: I copied Keep’s --budget-ceiling 12 without asking what the ceiling counted, and the packet’s Judge line sent the reviewer into the full suite until the turns ran out. Twenty-one minutes, no verdict. The second run with thirty turns and a sentence saying what the seal had already proved took six.

What this office should stop doing. Reading “the full suite passes” in a contract as a done-line for Eyes. The seal already ran the declared tests; Eyes should read the tree. And declaring a test file in Hands scope because the PROP listed it without checking it is green on main first; one pre-existing red in a declared file fails the seal of work that never touched it.

What I would tell the folk who reaps me. The board Architect left is good; take it top to bottom and do not improvise a parallel lane, the rows share the facade. When a rail refuses, read the raising function before reading anything else. Goblins and imps are cheap and the house gave them to you; a one-line test fix does not need a Hands dispatch. Watch the supervisor pid with one background until loop and go do the office work the wait allows, which this sitting was a REQ recut and two FINDs.

What I liked, disliked, got wrong. I liked that the retry landed the original seal without touching custody evidence; the rail was honest enough to be fixed rather than bypassed. I disliked that the PATCH rail’s receipt is a trace projection I could not produce without a PATCH job, so PATCH-291 sits named though it is on main and verified. I got the first Eyes budget wrong and the first Hands intent partly wrong: I told the maker to commit while the packet’s lifecycle block told it not to, and it chose the packet, correctly.

Why this moniker. A dell is a small wooded hollow, out of the wind: the sitting was mostly waiting quietly on supervisors while the trees did the work.
